Summit Itinerary

From policy briefings to legislative meetings and creative storytelling to a reception on Capitol Hill, this annual three-day event brings together a select group of higher education students to explore the intricacies of federal policy.

Two university students studying together in Washington, D.C.

Attendees will hear about what it means to be a postsecondary learner in today’s world.

Students will have the chance to learn about policy priorities in the new Congress and long-term solutions for higher ed’s most pressing issues.

Prepare for meetings with members of Congress and their staff by participating in the first in a series of legislative training games.

Teams will review the federal legislative agenda and craft their stories to advocate for policy change.

Our stories are our most powerful tools, with the power to spark massive innovation. During the personal story roundtable, attendees will learn how to effectively deliver their stories to create positive change in their communities.

Hear directly from Hill staffers and policy experts on how to hold an effective meeting with a member of Congress or staff member on the Hill.

With these new skills in hand, attendees will take to the Hill to meet directly with members of Congress and their staff about the importance of higher education.

Cap off your DC Student Summit experience with a reception on Capitol Hill! Students will have an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments over the past few days and chances to network with both policy experts and Hill staffers.
